FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-strength aluminium alloys and methods of their production and processing. Method of producing a metal article from an aluminium alloy includes casting an aluminium alloy to form an ingot, ingot homogenisation, hot rolling of the ingot to produce a thick sheet or intermediate sheet and thermal treatment of the solid solution of the thick sheet or intermediate sheet at a temperature of about 520 °C to about 590 °C. Thick sheet is sheet with thickness of more than 15 mm, and intermediate sheet is sheet with thickness of 4 mm to 15 mm. Said aluminium alloy contains 0.6–0.9 wt. % Cu, 0.8–1.3 wt. % Si, 1.0–1.3 wt. % Mg, 0.03–0.25 wt. % Cr, 0.05–0.2 wt. % Mn, 0.15–0.3 wt. % Fe, up to 0.2 wt. % Zr, up to 0.2 wt. % Sc, up to 0.25 wt. % Sn, up to 0.9 wt. % Zn, up to 0.1 wt. % Ti, up to 0.07 wt. % Ni and impurities in form of V, Ga, Ca, Hf, Sr or their combination in amount of 0–0.05 wt. %, wherein total amount of impurities does not exceed 0.15 wt. %, and residue is Al.
EFFECT: providing aluminium alloy with improved mechanical strength, moldability, corrosion resistance and anodic properties.
