FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of catalytic converters for producing unsaturated olefin and diene hydrocarbons. Disclosed is a method of producing a catalytic converter based on Al2O3 for dehydrogenation of C8-C9 hydrocarbons, comprising preparing a mixture of powders, pressing the mixture into a workpiece, carrying out synthesis, characterized by that the initial components are taken in the following ratio, wt.%: α-Al2O3 - 71–85, MgO - 3–6, SiC - 6–12, SiO2 - 3–6, Re2O7 - 1.5–2.5, WO3 - 1.5–2.5, pressing the mixture is carried out at pressure of 25–70 MPa, and synthesis is carried out by sintering at a maximum temperature of 1200–1300 °C.
EFFECT: simplifying the process of creating a catalytic converter (obtaining a converter in one step) for dehydrogenating C8-C9 hydrocarbons, reducing carbonisability of converter to 0,5 % by weight.
