PROTECTIVE PAINTS RADICALLY CURABLE BY UV AND VISIBLE RADIATION Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC C09D11/101 C09D11/37 B42D25/373

Abstract RU 2817717 C2

FIELD: chemistry; paints.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inks which are used to print security features on documents. Disclosed is a protective paint radically curable under the effect of radiation in the UV and visible region, containing 83 wt.% of paint binder with viscosity of 200 to 2000 mPa·s at 25 °C, in which from 25 to 55 wt.% of one or more radically curable oligomers with molecular weight higher than 800 g/mol eq. PS and from 10 to 50 wt.% of one or more radically curable monomers selected from the group consisting of triacrylates, tetraacrylates, as well as mixtures thereof, from 0.1 to 20 wt.% of one or more free radical photoinitiators and optionally up to 50 wt.% of one or more active diluents, which are radically curable monomers selected from monoacrylates, diacrylates and mixtures thereof, as well as 17 wt.% pigments containing a non-metallic or metal substrate in form of flakes, wherein said non-metallic or metallic substrate comprises one or more at least partial coating layers independently made from one or more metal oxides, one or more metal oxide hydrates, one or more metal suboxides, one or more metal fluorides or mixtures of these materials, and also comprises at least a partial surface treatment layer facing the external environment, which is in direct contact with the upper layer of one or more of the at least partial layers of the coating and made from one or more surface modifiers selected from fluoride compounds, where the fluoride compounds are perfluoropolyethers functionalised with one or more phosphate-containing groups, one or more silane-containing groups or one or more siloxane-containing groups, or the fluorine compounds are fluoroalkyls, wherein said fluoroalkyls are functionalised with one or more siloxane-containing groups; use of the disclosed radically curable under the influence of radiation in the UV and visible region of the protective paint for the manufacture of one or more protective features on the security document or article; article for protecting documents coated with the disclosed protective paint and a method for producing the disclosed article.

EFFECT: improved optical characteristics of the obtained security features from the point of view of chromaticity, brightness and color change properties.
