PROTECTIVE PAINTS CURABLE UNDER ACTION OF RADIATION IN UV AND VISIBLE REGION Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC C09D11/101 C09D11/37 B42D25/30 B41M1/12

Abstract RU 2833559 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to security inks suitable for printing security features on substrates. Disclosed is a protective paint cation-curable under the effect of radiation in the UV and visible region, containing from 75 wt.% to 99 wt.% of a paint binder with viscosity of 200 to 2000 mPa⋅s at 25 °C and from 1 wt.% to 25 wt.% pigments containing a non-metallic or metallic substrate in form of flakes, wherein said non-metallic or metallic substrate comprises one or more at least partial coating layers independently made from one or more metal oxides, one or more metal oxide hydrates, one or more metal suboxides or mixtures of these materials, and comprises at least a partial surface treatment layer facing the external medium, which is in direct contact with the upper layer of one or more at least partial coating layers and made from one or more surface modifiers selected from perfluoropolyethers, wherein said perfluoropolyethers are functionalised with one or more groups containing phosphorus (P), or one or more groups containing silicon (Si), wherein the paint binder contains a1) from 45 wt.% to 75 wt.% of one or more cycloaliphatic epoxides and a2) from 2 wt.% to 15 wt.% of one or more cationic photoinitiators, which are onium salts, or b1) from 45 wt.% to 75 wt.% of a mixture containing one or more cycloaliphatic epoxides and one or more radically curable compounds selected from the group consisting of tri(meth)acrylates, tetra(meth)acrylates and mixtures thereof, and b2) from 2 wt.% to 15 wt.% of a mixture of one or more cationic photoinitiators, which are onium salts, and one or more free radical photoinitiators, as well as paint binder; use of the disclosed protective paint for making security features; a security feature made from the disclosed protective paint; security document containing cured disclosed protective paint and method of producing disclosed security document.

EFFECT: obtaining paints which are curable under the effect of radiation in the UV and visible region, intended for obtaining security features which demonstrate improved optical characteristics in terms of chromaticity, lightness and/or colour change.
