FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: for testing ammunition of penetrating type, ammunition interacting with metal plate is fixed, metal plate is thrown safely by explosion products of explosive device of metal plate throwing. Metal plate velocity vector is directed at preset angle to ammunition axis. Explosion of ammunition is performed by actuation of sensors of explosive device or their interaction with metal plate. Registration of ammunition detonation and determination of detonation delay time from explosive device is carried out based on results of video recording of flashes at moments of explosion of explosive device of metal plate and ammunition throwing. Time of movement of the metal plate from the initial position to the moment of interaction with the sensors of the explosive device is taken into account. Also disclosed is a test bench of penetrating type ammunition.

EFFECT: enabling increase in the information content of the experiment, while eliminating the effect of the explosion products of the propellant charge on the video recording of the process.
