FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns a method for recording the velocities of striking elements for axisymmetric fragmentation ammunition. The method includes detonating ammunition installed in a given position near the shield and recording the trajectory of movement of the striking elements. At the same time, a sector of the dispersion of the striking elements is identified, and the dispersion of the striking elements on the background shield is recorded by a high-speed video camera with an exposure time that ensures the visibility and recognition of the striking elements. Lower and upper markers are made on the shield, allowing one to determine the scale of the expansion pattern, and the lower scale markers are made at the line of intersection of the median plane of the ammunition, perpendicular to the axis of the ammunition, and the plane of the background shield. Based on the obtained images, the coordinates and velocities of the striking elements are determined.

EFFECT: reduction of time required to make changes and obtain the results of processing experimental data.
