FIELD: medicine; neurosurgery.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for treating patients with intracanal extravertebral tumors of the spinal cord of the "hourglass" type. Tumor type and size are determined, and spinal bone structures are removed on the side of the tumor. In case of type III tumor according to Eden classification, the size of which is 25–27 cm3, removal of bone structures is performed by hemilaminectomy with partial resection of lower and/or upper edge of semi-arches of adjacent vertebrae. After removal of a portion of the tumor located in the spinal canal, performing a foraminotomy and a partial facetotomy, if the tumor volume is more than 27 cm3 , the hemilaminectomy with partial resection of the lower and/or upper edge of the adjacent vertebral arches and foraminotomy is followed by a facetectomy, a resection of the head and neck of the superior or inferior rib.
EFFECT: method enables minimizing the traumatism of the operation due to the complete visualization of the formation surrounding the neuroma, and the possibility of its total resection with minimal blood loss, while not violating the tightness of the pleural cavity, excluding the development of hydropneumothorax in the postoperative period.
