METHOD OF TREATING CYSTIC FORMATIONS OF LOWER JAW Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/24

Abstract RU 2817927 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, in particular to dentistry, and is intended for use in performing an extended cystotomy-type biopsy, in the process of surgical treatment of cystic formations of the lower jaw of large sizes. Mucous membrane is incised, a mucoperiosteal flap is dissected, a bone cavity is formed, and an anterior wall of the cystic formation is excised. 5-6 holes with height of 3 mm and diameter of 1.5 mm are drilled with a bur. Then the mucoperiosteal flap is screwed into the bone cavity and sutured through from the vestibular side by stitching a suture needle in the mucoperiosteal flap at distance of 15 mm from its edge. Mucoperiosteal flap is folded over the edge of the cortical plate and sutured through the drilled holes, tying interrupted sutures along the edge of the cortical plate to form an epithelialized edge. Before the mucous membrane incision, an obturator is made, consisting of artificial teeth and a base part, passing into an immersion part and ending with fixing clasps, based on a lithographic model of the lower jaw, obtained by multispiral computed tomography, which enables to create 3D reconstruction of said model taking into account the inlet of the cyst cavity with subsequent printing of 3D model, removal of mould from it and casting of obturator from acryl. After the epithelialized edge is obtained, the immersed part of the prefabricated obturator is inserted into the cyst cavity inlet and fixing the obturator by means of fixing clasps, which are put on adjacent teeth as a partial removable prosthesis, with subsequent shortening of the length of the obturator as the bone tissue is restored.

EFFECT: method enables reducing the length of patient’s rehabilitation, reducing the number of visits to the dentist and eliminating postoperative complications.
