SUBSTANCE: processing audio data. The technical result is to reduce the need for bit rate for transmitting spoken immersive speech. The technical result is achieved by determining a first representation of the sound field parameters for the first frame from the audio signal in the first frame and a second representation of the sound field parameters for the second frame (308) from the audio signal in the second frame; and analysing the audio signal to determine, depending on the audio signal, that the first frame is an active frame and the second frame is an inactive frame of generating a coded audio signal, wherein the coded audio signal provides a coded audio signal for the first frame being an active frame, and a parametric description for the second frame, which is an inactive frame; and constructing an encoded audio scene by combining a first sound field parameter representation for the first frame, a second sound field parameter representation for the second frame, an encoded audio signal for the first frame, and a parametric description for the second frame.

EFFECT: reducing the need for bit rate for transmitting spoken immersive speech.
