FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing phosphonium salts based on alantolactone of formula I, involving reaction in a halogen-hydrocarbon solvent in an inert medium in an equimolar ratio of alantolactone of formula II with P-H-phosphonium salts of formula III a-f, obtained by reaction in a halogen-hydrocarbon solvent in an inert medium in an equimolar amount at room temperature of trifluoromethanesulphonic acid and triarylphosphines of formula IVa, IVe, IVf or when boiling trifluoroacetic acid and triarylphosphines of formula IVb, IVc, IVd, with subsequent extraction of end product by re-precipitation with petroleum ether and drying in vacuum. Halogen-hydrocarbon solvent used is dichloromethane or chloroform. Inert medium used is nitrogen or argon.
EFFECT: method of producing alantolactone-based phosphonium salts, providing targeted delivery of compounds to tumor cells, capable of effectively leading to apoptosis via an internal mitochondrial pathway, thereby inhibiting growth of cancer cells.
