SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a kitchen appliance for processing food products and to a method for activating an electric motor of a kitchen appliance. Kitchen appliance for food processing comprises an electric motor for driving a kitchen appliance tool, a switch for turning on and off the electric motor and a control and adjustment device configured to adjust the rotation frequency of the tool in functional connection with the electric motor depending on the intensity of actuating the manual actuating element of the switch. Kitchen appliance for treating food products also comprises a safety device to prevent accidental actuation of the switch. Safety device comprises a manual safety element to be moved in the same direction as the actuating element to unlock the actuating element. Safety element located in the locking position projects beyond the actuating surface of the actuating element, and in the unlocking position it is located flush with the actuating surface.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of controlling a kitchen appliance with one hand.
