FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refractory concrete and can be used for making monolithic lining of steel-making thermal units. Matrix of the concrete mixture containing periclase of fraction less than 0.045 mm in amount of 27–29 wt.%, ultrafine carbonaceous component with specific surface area of not less than 250 g/m2 in amount of 0.01–0.97 wt.%, one or more calcium aluminates with particle size of not more than 20 mcm in amount of 0.3 to 2.6 wt.%, microsilica with particle size of not more than 5 mcm in amount of 0.3 to 5 wt.%, water-soluble phosphate in amount of 0.05 to 3.5 wt.%, one or more boron compounds in amount of 0.05 to 2.5 wt.%, surfactant in amount of 0.05 to 1.5 wt.%, is subjected to joint dry fine grinding to particle size less than 45 mcm and dry mixed with 64–65 wt.% periclase with a maximum grain size of up to 12 mm to obtain a homogeneous dry concrete mixture, which prior to vibration molding, hardening, drying and heat treatment is mixed with water in amount of 4.5 to 6.5 wt.% to obtain a homogeneous mixture of concrete solution with a flowability index of not less than 140%. Periclase-carbon concrete contains not more than 0.95 wt.%, carbon, has open porosity after drying of not more than 12%, after firing at 1,400 °C—not more than 20%, ultimate compression strength after drying is not less than 44 MPa, after firing at 1,400 °C—not less than 35 MPa, slag resistance—not more than 0.9 mm.

EFFECT: inventions expand technical arsenal of means for arrangement of monolithic periclase-carbon lining of steel-pouring ladle and concrete periclase-carbon articles for lining of steel-making units, providing resistance comparable to that of pressed periclase-carbon articles.
