FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to laboratory diagnostics and oncology, includes a cancer antigen, which is a family of N-glycoproteins having identical N-glycosylation, with a molecular weight of 60–85 kDa, and a method which can be used to determine a high probability of the presence of epithelial cancer by determining the concentration of a cancer antigen - a marker of epithelial cancer, which is a family of N-glycoproteins having identical N-glycosylation. A sample of blood or tumour tissue or saliva is obtained from a patient with suspected malignant epithelial growths. Blood or saliva samples are obtained from a control group of healthy individuals without malignant tumours. Activating cancer antigen - marker of epithelial types of cancer - by thermal exposure in temperature mode from 50 °C to 65 °C for 30 minutes on patient’s biological fluid - blood or saliva or on tumour cell suspension and on biological fluids of healthy people - blood or saliva. Concentration of the marker of epithelial types of cancer in the samples obtained after thermal exposure is determined. If the concentration of the epithelial cancer marker in the patient’s body fluid sample obtained after thermal exposure exceeds the concentration of the epithelial cancer marker in the body fluid samples of healthy individuals obtained after thermal exposure, then a conclusion is made on a high probability of the presence of epithelial cancer in the patient.
EFFECT: method provides the possibility of detecting and screening carcinomas by determining, isolating, and detecting a new cancer antigen, which is a family of N-glycoproteins having identical N-glycosylation, with a molecular weight of 60–85 kDa, associated with epithelial tissue tumours.
