FIELD: oil refining; road construction.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a bitumen emulsion with high stability and environmental friendliness and a method for production thereof, and can be used at oil refineries for processing high-viscosity oil and bitumen, as well as in construction and road repair works. Emulsion includes bitumen, an emulsifier based on a wood processing product and water, as an emulsifier based on a wood processing product, it contains microfibrillar cellulose with an average microfibril diameter of 200–400 nm and a length of about 100 mcm, with the following ratio of components, wt.%: bitumen 10.0–40.0; said microfibrillar cellulose 0.6–0.9 and water makes the balance. Method involves mixing an emulsifier and water, heating the obtained mixture to temperature of 60–80 °C, then dispersing the obtained mixture in a disperser to form an aqueous dispersion of the emulsifier and gradually adding bitumen, preheated to 90–150 °C, with constant mixing with duration of 5–7 minutes after feeding the entire portion of bitumen, to obtain a finished product—a bitumen emulsion, in which said microfibrillar cellulose is used as an emulsifier.

EFFECT: obtaining a bitumen emulsion which does not contain corrosive substances, reducing the consumption of the emulsifier for producing the emulsion, increasing the stability of the obtained bitumen emulsion which does not stratify for at least a year of storage.
