FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of vacuum-tight permanent connection by soldering of disks from pyrolytic boron nitride (PBN) with metal parts, for example, during manufacture of outputs of microwave energy for electrovacuum devices. Disc brazed surface is metallized and placed with a gap inside the collar with subsequent soldering. Prior to metallization, the cylindrical surface of the disc is subjected to laser ablation by scanning the laser beam in preset modes. Laser beam is moved along the cylindrical surface of the disc along parallel lines directed at an angle to the generatrix of the disc, and then along the lines crossing said lines at a right angle. In the process of thermal action of laser radiation, the cylindrical surface of the disc is cleaned and the layers of PBN are split with formation of slots between them from the edge of the cylindrical surface to the center of the disc. During soldering, due to capillary forces, metal coating and solder penetrate into formed slots between layers of PBN, providing a vacuum-tight permanent connection of the disc with a copper collar, which is a housing for outputting microwave energy. Tightness of the soldered assembly is confirmed by checking on a helium leak detector by blowing the assembly with a helium jet.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method of soldering pyrolytic boron nitride with metals.
