FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to alloyed steel for making railway car couplings. Alloy steel contains the following components, wt.%: 0.240 carbon (C), 0.380 silicon (Si), 1.160 manganese (Mn), 0.014 phosphorus (P), 0.006 sulfur (S), 0.250 chromium (Cr), 0.250 nickel (Ni), 0.030 copper (Cu), 0.180 molybdenum (Mo), 0.020 vanadium (V) and 0.020 aluminum (Al), as well as nanoparticles of one of the elements: titanium nitride (TiN), cubic boron nitride (cBN), aluminum oxide (Al2O3), zirconium dioxide (ZrO2), magnesium oxide (MgO) or a mixture consisting of 99% silicon oxide (SiO2) and 1% silicon carbide (SiC).
EFFECT: steel has the required mechanical properties, which allows safe use of the coupling made from it for railway cars in the railway system connecting Russia and the countries of Northeastern Asia.
