FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, pulse engineering and can be used for switching high voltage in generators of high-voltage rectangular pulses with an electronic switch based on series connection of insulated gate transistors (IGBT or MOSFET). High-voltage rectangular pulse generator comprising an electronic switch of series-connected N transistors with an insulated gate, controlled high-voltage power supply shunted by a storage capacitor, and unit for synchronous supply of control voltages to gates of all N transistors, is additionally equipped with (N-1) loads, each of which is connected by one output to one of (N-1) contacts connecting adjacent transistors of the sequence. Power supply unit of the electronic switch is additionally equipped with (N-1) sources shunted with storage capacitors. Technical result of the proposed technical solution is ensured by transfer of voltage equalization functions from the resistive divider and snubbers to additional sources of high-voltage power supply and additional loads of transistors. Proposed technical solution provides applicability of invention not only for series connection of identical transistors, but also for series connection of transistors of different types, for series electronic switches with different number of parallel connected transistors.

EFFECT: improved balancing of voltages on transistors in electronic switches included in high-voltage rectangular pulse generators.
