FIELD: medicine; orthopedics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine radial torsion in patients with infantile cerebral paralysis. Computed tomography of forearm bones is performed. Multiplanar reconstruction of mutually perpendicular axial, frontal and sagittal forearm bone scanning planes is performed in such a way that the guide of the reconstructed sagittal plane passes through the middle of the proximal epiphysis of the radial bone and the middle of the distal epiphysis of the ulnar bone on all scans, and the frontal plane guide passes through the middle of the proximal and distal radial epiphysis. On the reconstructed axial computer tomography scan of the forearm bones at the level of the highest point of the radial tuberosity, the angle A is measured, formed by intersection of the frontal plane and the line passing through the point of intersection of the frontal and sagittal planes and the highest point of the radial tuberosity. On the reconstructed axial computer tomography scan of the forearm bones at the level of the distal metaphysis of the radial bone, angle B is measured, formed by the intersection of the frontal plane and the line perpendicular to the segment between the extreme points of the ulnar notch of the radial bone and passing through the middle of this segment. Radial torsion equals the difference between angle B and angle A.
EFFECT: method provides determining the optimal surgical approach ensured by the possibility of calculating the torsion of the radial bone in the patients with infantile cerebral paralysis.
