SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft engineering, particularly, to helicopters. Transmission of a light or ultralight helicopter comprises a drive engine, the output shaft of which is connected to a drive shaft of a belt-type variator, on which there is a driven multi-groove pulley enveloped by one multi-groove belt with V-shaped protectors or separate V-belts, each of which is placed in a separate groove of the pulley. Driven multi-groove pulley is arranged on driven shaft, which is connected to input shaft of main reduction gear of one shaft of vane system. To adjust the tension of the belt or belts, a tension roller is used, which is located on a rotary bracket inside the contour of the multi-groove belt or V-belts. Driven pulley is coupled with driven shaft via overrunning clutch. Drive shaft of the belt-type variator is hollow, inside this hollow shaft there is a separate shaft, which on the side of the drive motor is connected to the output shaft of the drive motor through an externally located plate coupling, and on the other side with the hollow shaft of the drive pulley through a compensating coupling located inside this shaft or an externally located plate coupling.
EFFECT: higher operational survivability of helicopter transmission.
