COPOLYMERS OF CHITOSAN AND POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL AND USING THEM METHODS AND DEVICES FOR SEALING PUNCTURED BLOOD VESSELS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/08 A61L24/06 A61L24/08 A61L31/06 A61L31/14

Abstract RU 2819384 C2

FIELD: pharmaceutics.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a device for sealing through puncture holes in tissue, as well as to a method for its implementation. Device comprises a sealing means having a first section having a proximal end, a distal end and a first cross section, and a second section having a second cross-section extending from a distal end of the first section, and a guide catheter having a cavity in which a sealing means is placed. Diameter of the device is less than the diameter of the puncture hole. First section is formed from lyophilised hydrogel containing chitosan, which is bound with at least one polyethylene glycol polymer. Said hydrogel expands when exposed to a physiological fluid in the through puncture hole. Second section contains non-cross-linked polyethylene glycol precursors and does not contain chitosan.

EFFECT: present invention provides higher efficiency, for example speed and quality, sealing of puncture hole, provides improved arrest of bleeding, and also provides sealing of puncture holes of large sizes with a small-sized device, the size of which is less than the size of the puncture hole.
