FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a device for sealing through puncture holes in patient's tissue, comprising a sealing device having a first section made of lyophilized hydrogel, wherein the first section is expanded when exposed to a physiological fluid medium within the puncture opening, wherein the first section contains a hydrogel containing chitosan bound to at least one polyethylene glycol polymer, wherein, when exposed to an aqueous physiological fluid, the hydrogel extends and seals the through puncture hole in the tissue, and a guide catheter having a cavity, wherein the sealing means is placed in the guiding catheter cavity, wherein the device has a smaller diameter than the diameter of the puncture opening. Also disclosed are a method of sealing puncture openings made in a vessel having a hole size of 6 or more on a French scale, using a device having a smaller diameter than the diameter of the puncture opening, and a method of making the device for sealing through puncture openings in the patient's tissue.

EFFECT: technical result is providing improved effects of sealing blood vessels and improved bleeding control at the point of the puncture hole in the vessel.
