METHOD FOR GRAVITATIONAL SETTLING OF DRILLED ROCK PARTICLES AND BROKEN HOLLOW GLASS MICROSPHERES WHEN CLEANING DRILLING FLUID Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC E21B21/06

Abstract RU 2819534 C1

FIELD: oil industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the oil industry, in particular to methods of cleaning drilling fluids. When implementing the method, using a spent drilling fluid supply pump, spent fluid from a circulation and cleaning system is supplied to the settling tanks, by means of a fresh water supply pump, fresh water is supplied to the settling tanks for dilution of the spent fluid in ratio of 20/80, where 20 is the volume of fresh water, and 80 is the volume of the spent fluid, fresh water supply pump is used to supply fresh water from above through sprinklers, and diluted spent drilling fluid is settled in settling tanks at constant temperature. Then, cleaned drilling fluid is fed into external reservoir for fluid storage. First, a pumping pump is used to pump out the cleaned drilling fluid from the upper part of the settling tanks with the maximum amount of intact hollow glass microspheres. Then, the remaining cleaned drilling fluid is pumped out from the settling tanks into an external tank. Purified fluid is directed from the external tank back to the circuit of the circulation and purification system. By means of a pump for pumping out the sediment from the lower part of the settling tanks, the sediment is sent to the sediment washing device. Further, the washed-out sediment is pumped out for recycling by a pump for pumping out the sediment from the sediment washing device.

EFFECT: increasing degree of drilling fluid cleaning, including cleaning from broken microspheres, providing maximum preservation of glass microspheres intact, increasing the amount of returned cleaned drilling fluid into the circulation system.
