FIELD: various technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a water-cooled mandrel of a piercing mill of screw rolling, which is installed on a tip of a hollow rod containing a tube for supply of cooling liquid. Mandrel is made with cavity of variable cross-section in shape coaxially to outer surface of mandrel so that cavity diameter increases towards rod. Mandrel is equipped with frame arranged in mandrel wall, which is formed by a set of annular elements increasing in diameter towards the rod coaxially to the outer surface of the mandrel, and longitudinal ribs connecting said rings.

EFFECT: as a result, the mandrel resistance is increased.
