FIELD: pharmaceutical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of a dosage form—rectal suppositories for treating inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). Agent in the form of rectal suppositories for treating IBD contains melatonin, fatty cocoa seed oil, hydrogenated vegetable oil, solid paraffin “П-1”, emulsifier T-2 at a certain ratio of components.
EFFECT: disclosed suppositories have high bioavailability and a number of advantages: they have a satisfactory appearance, are homogeneous; suppository base composition promotes fast and complete melatonin release; shaping the medicinal agent in the form of suppositories provides convenience and hygiene of use, stability during storage; due to the introduction of melatonin into the drug composition, the suppositories have anti-inflammatory action, and the optimal composition of the suppository base promotes uniform release of the active substance; in addition, suppositories are convenient for use by patients independently.
