SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of protecting erythrocytes from deformation and hemolysis while maintaining the thickness of the epidermis and reducing the number of damaged hair follicles in the treatment of wounds and burns by using plastoquinone having structural formula

where R is a hydroxylated side isoprenoid plastoquinone chain, including mono-hydroxylated forms of the isoprenoid chain in positions of links from 1 to 9, as well as di-, tri-, tetra-, penta-, hexa-, hepta-, octa-, nona-hydroxylated forms of the isoprenoid chain in positions of chain links from 1 to 9 or it is a side plastoquinone isoprenoid chain containing from 1 to 9 ester bonds with fatty acids, or a hydroxylated side isoprenoid plastoquinone chain containing one or more ester bonds with fatty acids.
EFFECT: present invention provides a method of protecting erythrocytes from deformation and hemolysis while maintaining the thickness of the epidermis and reducing the number of damaged hair follicles in the treatment of wounds and burns by using plastoquinone or its derivatives.
