FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a boxed apparatus for determining concentration of oxygen-containing impurities in a fluoride molten LiF-BeF2. Method involves loading a sample into a graphite crucible with silicon carbide powder SiC, heated to temperature of 2500 °C, transportation of the released gases by the carrier gas flow into the infrared detector of the analyzer through copper oxide CuO heated to temperature of 550 °C, which converts carbon monoxide CO into carbon dioxide gas CO2, and determining content of oxygen-containing impurities in the sample. Boxed installation consists of two glove boxes with an inert argon atmosphere connected by a sluice. In one box there is a sample preparation unit. In the other box there is a gas analyzer containing a pulsed furnace unit, a gas preparation unit, a furnace for converting CO into CO2, analytical unit, including an infrared detector, a gas line for moving the carrier gas flow, as well as at least one additional furnace for converting CO into CO2 and a filter for cleaning the carrier gas flow from sublimates of molten LiF-BeF2 in front of the infrared detector.
EFFECT: enabling the possibility of using the reducing melting method to determine the content of oxygen impurities in the molten LiF-BeF2 with complete interaction of beryllium oxide from LiF-BeF2, which prevents its capture by sublimates of fluoride melt, as well as reduction of systematic component of analysis error.
