FIELD: salt compositions production.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to obtain salt compositions based on LiF-BeF2, which can be used as working fluids in the operation of molten salt reactors (MSR). The method includes melting a mixture of salts containing lithium fluoride and lead fluoride, taken in an amount corresponding to the eutectic composition of the resulting composition. The mixture is melted at a temperature of 550-900°C, kept for at least 30 minutes. Metallic beryllium is added to the resulting melt in an amount greater than the amount of lead contained in lead fluoride, and kept in the melt until the content of residual lead in the salt is not more than 0.001 wt.%.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce the number of stages in the process of obtaining a salt composition based on LiF-BeF2, to exclude non-environmentally friendly production of beryllium fluoride, and to expand the raw material base through the use of beryllium waste.
