COMPOSITION FOR POLYMERISATION OF VINYL CHLORIDE-BASED POLYMER AND METHOD OF PRODUCING VINYL CHLORIDE-BASED POLYMER USING SAID COMPOSITION Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC C08F14/06 C08F2/24 C08F6/16 C08F8/04 C08J3/12

Abstract RU 2819900 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a vinyl chloride-based polymer, in particular, to a method of producing a vinyl chloride-based polymer, which can be used to obtain both a general-purpose vinyl chloride-based polymer and a vinyl chloride-based polymer paste with high tensile strength through a single batch process. Method of producing a vinyl chloride-based polymer includes: 1) a step for polymerising a vinyl chloride-based monomer in the presence of a first vinyl chloride-based seed particle, a second vinyl chloride-based seed particle and sodium lauryl sulphate and 2) a step of separating after the polymerisation step of the first vinyl chloride-based polymer and the second vinyl chloride-based polymer, which are in form of particles, where the separated first vinyl chloride-based polymer is dried using a fluidised bed dryer, and the first vinyl chloride-based polymer has a smaller average particle diameter D50 than the second vinyl chloride-based polymer; where the first vinyl chloride-based seed particle has an average diameter D50 from 0.1 mcm to 0.4 mcm; second seeding particle based on vinyl chloride has an average diameter D50 from 0.1 mcm to 1.0 mcm; in step (1), the first vinyl chloride-based seed particle is included in amount of 5 to 15 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the vinyl chloride-based monomer; at step (1), the second vinyl chloride-based seed particle is included in amount of 5 to 15 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the vinyl chloride-based monomer, separation of a first vinyl chloride-based polymer and a second vinyl chloride-based polymer, which are in form of particles, at above stage (2) is carried out in a spray drier, where the fluidized bed drier is operated at temperature of 83 °C to 100 °C, the drying time using the fluidised bed dryer is from 5 to 60 minutes.

EFFECT: providing a method of producing a vinyl chloride-based polymer, wherein a first vinyl chloride-based polymer having a relatively small average particle diameter, can be obtained as a polymer having high tensile strength by drying using a fluidised bed dryer, and the second vinyl chloride-based polymer, having a relatively large average particle diameter, can be obtained as a general-purpose polymer, so that two grades of polymers with different physical properties can be obtained using a single process.
