FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates mainly to the manufacture of electrical contacts of low-voltage equipment. Technical result is achieved by a method of producing contacts for an electromechanical relay, in which silver powder is mixed with particles of material, which excludes welding of contact with mating contact during passage of electric discharge, produced mixture is pressed into workpiece, performing the obtained workpiece sintering, wherein the method involves mixing silver powder with material particles selected from graphite, cadmium oxide and carbon fibers, with their amount in mixture from 4% to 40% by weight, where carbon fibers have diameter from 3 to 15 microns with ratio of diameter to length from 1/3 to 1/10, forcing the workpiece through the die by extrusion with the ratio of the diameter of the workpiece to the diameter of the rod exiting spinneret within 0.7–0.85, cutting of billet rod into separate contacts of required length and mechanical processing of contacts till tapering from rear non-working part of contact.
EFFECT: increased service life of relay and reduced number of failures related to increase of transient resistance.
