FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to therapy, and can be used for treating fungal infections. Method of treating allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) involves inhalation into the airways of a patient in need of a dry powder containing: antifungal agent itraconazole in crystalline form in amount of 45 to 85% by weight in the form of subparticles with a volume median geometric diameter (VMGD) of 60 to 1650 nm; stabilizer in amount of 3 to 15% by weight; sodium salt in amount of 3 to 50% by weight; leucine in amount of 1 to 10% by weight. Itraconazole is administered in an amount sufficient to simultaneously achieve a pulmonary concentration of at least 500 ng/g or ng/ml to 8100 ng/g or ng/ml and a plasma concentration of 0.2 ng/ml to 25 ng/ml, pulmonary and plasma concentrations are achieved for at least 24 hours after administration. Itraconazole is administered in a single dose or in an initial dose with the introduction of one subsequent dose or subsequent doses, each of the above doses independently includes a nominal dose of itraconazole from 5 to 35 mg.
EFFECT: use of the invention enables to achieve high and stable exposure of itraconazole in the lungs, higher than the exposure achieved after oral administration, while maintaining a low systemic exposure.
