FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of treating or preventing pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in a human, the method comprising administering to a subject by inhalation a pharmaceutical aerosol composition in the form of a dry powder containing rapamycin microparticles, where the rapamycin particles have a weight average aerodynamic diameter (MMAD) of 1 to 5 mcm, and carrier particles, where the dosage form is effective for delivering a therapeutic amount of rapamycin to the lungs, where composition contains 5 to 500 mcg of rapamycin and ratio of rapamycin and carrier in powder is 0.5 to 2 % by weight.
EFFECT: technical result of the present invention is the possibility of safe delivery of rapamycin to the lungs in the form of a dry powder containing rapamycin microparticles, by inhalation, reducing or eliminating toxicity and adverse side effects.
