FIELD: cable industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition, namely to thermoplastic materials intended for the cable industry, and can be used for making cable insulation and sheaths. Composition for making cable jackets contains styrene-ethylene-butadiene-styrene rubber with a styrene content of 33 mol.%, technical carbon, isotactic polypropylene, linear low-density polyethylene with melt flow index of 2.5–3.5 g/10 min, finely dispersed calcium carbonate with maximum particle size of 10 mcm, industrial oil, antioxidant with the following ratio of components, wt.%: styrene-ethylene-butadiene-styrene rubber with a styrene content of 33 mol.%—20–30, technical carbon—1–5, isotactic polypropylene—5–15, linear low-density polyethylene with melt flow index 2.5–3.5 g/10 min—30–40, finely dispersed calcium carbonate with maximum particle size of 10 mcm—20–30, industrial oil—10–20, antioxidant—0.1–0.5.

EFFECT: obtaining a composition which complies with GOST 24334–2020 quality, which is subjected to secondary processing, used for production of cable sheaths operating in temperature range from minus 60 to plus 75 °C at rated voltage of not more than 0.66 kV, as well as covers of power cables for non-stationary laying, intended for connection of mobile machines, mechanisms and equipment to electric networks and to mobile sources of electric energy for rated voltage of not more than 450/750 V of alternating current with frequency of up to 400 Hz.
