FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the petrochemical industry, specifically to the technology of preparing a catalyst system for producing ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) reactor powder. Catalyst system for producing ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene includes a pre-catalyst diisopropoxy titanium (IV) dichloride [Ti], an activator diethylaluminium chloride [Al] and a cocatalyst - an organomagnesium compound selected from the group of: magnesium methylate, magnesium phenolate, magnesium 2-naphtholate, magnesium 8-oxyquinolate, magnesium acetylacetonate, magnesium benzoate, magnesium nicotinate, magnesium salicylate or magnesium 4-methoxybenzoate [Mg], in amount providing molar ratio [Ti]/[Al]=1:300÷600, [Mg]/[Ti]=5÷10. Catalyst system is obtained in a glove box. During active stirring to 0.9 M solution of diethylaluminium chloride [Al] in toluene is added a cocatalyst - organomagnesium compound selected from the group: - magnesium methylate, magnesium phenolate, magnesium 2-naphtholate, magnesium 8-oxyquinolate, magnesium acetylacetonate, magnesium benzoate, magnesium nicotinate, magnesium salicylate or magnesium 4-methoxybenzoate, then a solution of pre-catalyst [Ti] dichloride of diisopropoxy titanium (IV) in heptane is added. Obtained solution is then held while stirring for an hour to obtain a catalyst system based on molar ratio [Ti]/[Al] = 1:300÷600, [Mg]/[Ti] = 5÷10.
EFFECT: increased output of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene to 333.18 kg/g of titanium, molecular weight Mv 1.78÷4.95·106 g/mol.
