FIELD: gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the gas industry and can be used to reduce the level of destructive stresses in bottomhole and near-wellbore zones of underground gas storages in permeable rocks, which develop during operation of underground storages. Method of reducing the level of destructive stresses in bottomhole zones of wells of underground gas storages includes operation of storage in permeable rocks, cyclic injection and extraction of gas from them through wells, limitation of gas pressure in storage. Increase of pressure to maximum value at gas pumping into underground storage is performed in stages and duration of each stage is selected equal to time of gas pumping process at steady-state mode.

EFFECT: reducing the level of destructive stresses in underground gas storages during their operation and gas losses from storages through annular space of wells and volumes of sand carried into the well shaft by gas flow.
