FIELD: determining location of underwater objects.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for determining the location of underwater objects emitting sounds, in which at least two spaced sonar receivers are used, with the help of which an analog signal is recorded from an underwater object emitting sounds to each sonar receiver. This solution can be used to determine the location and movements of various underwater objects emitting sounds: marine mammals, underwater vehicles, sources of geological noise, and other sources of biological, geological and man-made sounds. According to the invention, two channels are formed on each sonar receiver, a digitized signal from an underwater object is recorded in the first channel, and in the second channel on each sonar receiver records the exact time signals from the receiver of the global navigation satellite system, in which a specialized 1PPS signal is allocated, synchronized with a common clock, and metadata including geographical location – longitude and latitude of the registration point, in the first channel on each sonar receiver, the signatures of interest are allocated, the selected signatures are compared on recordings made using different The location of the underwater object emitting sounds is determined by the geographical position of the registration points using the difference-rangefinder method based on the coincidence of the selected signatures from different sonar receivers.
EFFECT: achieved technical result is the absence of the need for constant communication between spaced sonar receivers.
