FIELD: cleaning.

SUBSTANCE: cleaning device (1) for cleaning surface (2) comprises at least one cleaning element (11) and wetting system (20) configured to supply cleaning liquid to at least one cleaning element (11), wherein wetting system (20) is made with possibility of operation in one of at least one normal mode of operation and forced mode of operation, providing for increased rate of supply of cleaning liquid, compared to said at least one normal operating mode. During start-up of cleaning device (1) in its wet cleaning mode, the starting mode of operation of wetting system (20) is defined as one of at least one mode of normal operation or forced operation mode based on evaluation of the actual value of at least one parameter indicating whether said at least one cleaning element (11) is in a wet cleaning state or not.

EFFECT: object of the present invention is to provide a cleaning device which is configured to carry out a procedure for starting a wet cleaning operation in a shorter time than the cleaning devices known in the art, so that the user can actually have a grab-and-go experience in using the cleaning device, regardless of whether the cleaning device operates to perform a dry cleaning operation or a wet cleaning operation, thereby improving user satisfaction.
