SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a tape for a smoking article. Tape comprises crimped cellulose acetate fiber in which titanium oxide content is set to a value in range of 0 wt % to 0.01 wt %, FD has a value in the range equal to or more than 10, and the crimp factor (I) (%), calculated using equation 1, satisfies the relationship of equation 2, [Equation 1] crimp factor (I) (%)=[(L1-L0)/L0]×100, where L0 is the length of the tape in the case when load of 250 g is applied to the tape with length of 250 mm in the direction of stretching the crimp of the cellulose acetate fibers, and L1 is the length of the tape when load of 2,500 g is applied to the tape having length of 250 mm in the same direction, [Equation 2] (−11.7+1.2×FD+0.00083×TD)<I (%)<(10.0+1.2×FD+0.00083×TD), where TD is the total denier in units of grams per 9,000 m of the tape, and FD is the denier of the fiber in units of grams per 9,000 m of a single fiber.

EFFECT: invention enables to make the tape less slippery in relation to the winding paper, which enables to successfully prevent indentation of the cigarette filter.
