FIELD: military equipment.

SUBSTANCE: thermal identifier is fixed on an item of suit and/or equipment of a serviceman. It includes a heat radiation source activated if necessary, made in the form of a set of heating elements grouped into a matrix. Each heating element can be individually disconnected from the power supply. Connection of matrix to power supply is made through manual switching device. Matrix can be placed in a moisture-proof shell. Heating elements can be made in the form of resistive heating elements.

EFFECT: creation of a thermal identifier, the forgery of which is difficult for an intruder, high security of the thermal identifier signature and ensuring independence of the thermal identifier from the electromagnetic environment in the area of its operation.
