FIELD: wireless communication networks.

SUBSTANCE: method of detecting operation of a virtual base station in motion is characterized by that for its implementation at least one user device is used, which is capable of detecting the power level of the received RSRP pilot signals and/or the quality of the received RSRQ pilot signals of the base stations. RSRP and/or RSRQ level is continuously measured for each base station in time period ti, rate of change of RSRP and/or RSRQ is calculated for each base station and their ranging is performed. If in time period ti + 1 rate of change of RSRP and/or RSRQ for base station, for which maximum rate of change is fixed, differs from the second base station in the RSRP and/or RSRQ rate of change by more than 30%, it is concluded that the base station for which the maximum rate of change is fixed is a moving virtual base station.

EFFECT: high level of information security owing to timely detection of attack weapons on a wireless network.
