FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: hunting cartridge with steel shot for smooth-bore weapon contains case, primer-igniter, powder charge, wad, shot charge arranged in wad-container-base. Wad-container-base is made of polymer material according to scheme of subcaliber charge and consists of container for shots in the form of cylindrical shell and bottom-base of cylindrical shell. Outer diameter of the cylindrical shell of the wad-container-base is less than the inner diameter of the gun barrel. Bottom-base of wad-container-base has protruding edge, diameter of which is equal to diameter of gun barrel. Upper surface of the protruding edge of the bottom-base of the wad-container-base is skewed downwards to the wall of the shell of the wad-container-base with possibility to push cylindrical shell of wad-container-base from gun barrel during firing. Shot wad is installed on top of the shell of the wad-container-base.

EFFECT: enabling creation of a hunting cartridge with steel shot for a shot from a smooth-bore weapon, with effective debris and accuracy of a shot pattern, with reliable protection of the barrel against contact with steel shot, with an aiming range and lethality of a shot charge at distance of 100 m and higher.
