FIELD: tobacco products.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method for processing pH-treated tobacco material, tobacco material obtained by this method, a method for storing pH-treated tobacco material, a container for storing tobacco material, and the use of carbon dioxide to increase the shelf life or bulk storage time of pH-treated tobacco material. The method for processing pH-treated tobacco material includes contacting at least one pH-treated tobacco material with an effective amount of one or more gases. Said one or more gases lower the pH value of the pH-treated tobacco material, and the decrease in the pH value of the pH-treated tobacco material is reversible.
SUBSTANCE: increase in the shelf life or bulk storage time of the pH-treated tobacco material, the content of nicotine in the mixture and/or nicotine in the aerosol is maintained over time.
