FIELD: smoking articles.
SUBSTANCE: present description relates to a device (1) for heating a smoking material in order to vaporize at least one component of the smoking material. The device (1) contains the first part (10) of the body, containing the first connector (15) and a recess (13) for accommodating the cartridge (40), and the second part (20) of the body, containing the second connector (25) for engagement with the first connector (15). When interconnected, the first and second connectors (15, 25) define an inlet (60) between the first and second connectors (15, 25) to allow air to be admitted into the recess (13) from the outer space of the smoking article. The inlet is fluidly connected to the outer space of the device through the annular gap between the first (15) and second (25) connectors. It is possible to change the cross-sectional area of each of the inlets (60) while maintaining the connection of the first and second connectors (15, 25) in order to control the airflow through the inlets.
EFFECT: vaporizing at least one component of the smoking material.
