FIELD: construction materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the industry of construction materials, in particular to modifying additives in concrete mixtures, and can be used in producing concrete, mortar, dry mixtures, as well as other cement composites, for example, in making backfill and insulating materials. Method of production consists in thermal activation (thermal treatment) of bentonite with further fine grinding. Technical result is achieved due to the fact that in the method of producing heat-treated dehydrated bentonite clay for concrete, mortar and cement composites, including crushing, preliminary drying and grinding of initial clay with further thermal treatment of obtained fine clay powder, initial clay used is bentonite with montmorillonite content of not less than 30 wt.%. and not less than 90% of particles of finely dispersed clay powder have size less than 40 mcm, and heat treatment is performed at temperature of 400–600°C for 1–1.5 hours.

EFFECT: creation of thermally treated dehydrated bentonite clay, which increases strength properties of concrete, mortar and cement composites, for example, when making backfill and insulating materials.
