The device for reproducing a multichannel audio signal contains a first array of loudspeakers located at a predetermined distance from each other along the first arc in front of the listening area. Each of the loudspeakers is directed towards the listening area and is located at the same distance from it. The array of the second loudspeakers is located at a predetermined distance from each other along the second arc behind the listening area. Each speaker is directed towards the listening area. The amplifier amplifies the signal of each channel in such a way that the sound pressure level at a point located at the same distance from the playback device as the first loudspeaker is from the listening area is 15 dB less than the SPL in the listening area.
