FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of determining externally ballistic parameters of projectile elements moving in water, and can be used in tests for experimental determination of parameters of movement of thrown elements. Method includes measuring the speed of a thrown element in water using at least two light planes, oriented perpendicular to the intended trajectory of the thrown element and its visualization on the trajectory. To form light planes, laser sources are used with radiation wavelength of 380–670 nm and power of 50–100 mW, operating in pulse mode with frequency of 800–1,000 kHz. To visualize the flow pattern and the position of the thrown element in the water, high-speed video recording and pulsed illumination sources with power of up to 1,800 W are used, switched on synchronously with flight of thrown element through area of video filming. Illumination sources and the video recording system for each measuring base are triggered by means of synchronous pulses generated by optoelectronic converters when the thrown element crosses the light plane. Average speed of the thrown element is determined by the formula U=S/(t2−t1), where S is the measuring base, equal to the distance between adjacent light screens; t1 and t2 are moments of time corresponding to intersection of light planes by thrown element.
EFFECT: determination of the speed of the thrown body in water, as well as ensuring the quality of the flow pattern of the element and its position on the assumed trajectory of movement.
