SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture and can be used for disinfection of peat used in agriculture. Method of treating peat for growing plants in a protected ground is that peat is placed in a mixer, it is tightly closed and exposed to ozone-air mixture with ozone concentration of 1.5–2 g/m3 during 1–1.5 h by means of a fan with capacity of 50 m3/h.

EFFECT: simplification of peat treatment process and its decontamination with preservation of nutrients during treatment.
