SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol delivery system, an aerosol delivery device and a cartridge for an aerosol delivery system. An aerosol delivery system is provided that includes an air path extending from a vapour generating region in which steam is generated for inhalation by a user to a flavouring region containing a flavouring medium that imparts flavour to the vapour. The first cross-sectional area of the air path in the vapour generation area is smaller than the second cross-sectional area of the air path at the point where the channel enters the flavouring area. The width of the air path in the first direction perpendicular to the air path increases from the region of steam generation to the region of flavouring more than the width of the air path in the second direction perpendicular to the air path.

EFFECT: inventions provide a device with improved ergonomics and a reduction in the amount of steam per unit area of the flavouring insert, while at the same time slightly affecting the total amount of steam supplied to the flavouring insert.
