METHOD OF PRODUCING PHARMACEUTICAL SUBSTANCE BASED ON LUTETIUM-177 FROM YTTERBIUM-176 IRRADIATED IN NEUTRON FLUX Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G21G4/08 A61K51/00

Abstract RU 2823124 C1

FIELD: radiochemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiochemistry, particularly to methods of separating lutetium and ytterbium. Method of producing a pharmaceutical substance based on lutetium-177 from ytterbium-176 irradiated in a nuclear reactor involves preparing a working solution of the elements to be separated in hydrochloric acid. When passing the working solution through the column, ytterbium and lutetium-177 are sorbed in the upper part of the temperature-controlled column at temperature of 50–80 °C, having a sorbent layer height of at least 20 cm. For elution of lutetium-177 and ytterbium, are used consistently distilled water and a solution α-hydroxyisobutyrate of ammonium with concentration from 0.1 to 0.3 mol/l, with pH from 3.5 to 5.0, with filtration rate from 0.1 to 1.0 ml/(min⋅cm2). A working solution with pH from 2 to 5 is prepared from the lutetium-177 fraction and the separation is repeated. Solution containing lutetium-177 after the second separation is evaporated to dryness and dissolved in hydrochloric acid with concentration of 0.01 to 0.1 mol/l, packed in flasks of 10 GBq.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a pharmaceutical substance based on lutetium-177 without a carrier for subsequent synthesis of radiopharmaceutical preparations.
