FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to technology of combined processing of workpieces from pure titanium for manufacture of articles for biomedical application. Method for combined processing of workpieces from pure titanium for making articles for biomedical applications involves heating, intense plastic deformation by continuous equal-channel angular pressing and subsequent surface plastic deformation of the workpieces. Intensive plastic deformation of workpieces is carried out by the method of equal-channel angular pressing according to the Conform scheme with an accumulated degree of deformation of not less than 4 at temperature of 290–310°C, subsequent surface plastic deformation is carried out by non-abrasive ultrasonic finishing with ultrasonic tool vibration frequency of 18–21 kHz and tool pressing force to workpieces of 50–75 N.
EFFECT: ultrafine structural state is formed in the volume of the workpiece, and a nanocrystalline structure is formed in the surface layer, which provides high microhardness and low roughness parameter of the workpiece surface.
