METHOD FOR THREE-VECTOR FIXATION OF INTRAOCULAR LENS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61F9/07 A61F2/16

Abstract RU 2823465 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used for three-vector intraocular lens (IOL) fixation. That is ensured by intrascleral three-vector collinear or noncollinear fixation of the IOL. One suture with two needles at the ends is used to pierce the optical part of the IOL at distance of 1.5–2.5 mm from each other and at distance of 0.9–1.4 mm from the edge of optics at 10–11 and 13–14 o'clock and second suture – at 18 o'clock. Free end part of the sutures is melted before the flange is formed. Suture is stretched until the flange touches the optical part of the lens. IOL is centred by pulling the sutures. Opposite end of the sutures is delivered trans-scleral at distance of 2–2.5 mm from limb at 10–11, 13–14 and 18 o'clock. End parts of the sutures are fused to form a flange and are immersed intrasclera.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the positional stability of the intraocular lens with complete absence of contact of the intraocular lens with the iris, which in turn provides reduced risk of secondary hypertension and inflammatory reaction, reduced risk of surgically induced astigmatism, which promotes improvement of visual functions.
